The Ship
A heap of junk, named Scoop's Voyage, left dry dock at Alnitak in 824. But having waited for my ship for several cycles, I still fell in love with her almost on first sight.
Thankfully good luck, help and good advice enabled me to turn the Scoop's Voyage into a rather successful ship the first try. Captain Douglas of the Majestic Moose, especially with his excellent Newbie Guide, has been a major source of the latter while Captain Marcus of the Abstract Workshop (who gave me a considerable leg up during my first few turns) and the Prophet of the Merciful One, Pequod, (who chose me on about my 50th turn and kept me chosen for nearly 100 turns) were among the most prominent in the help department.
The Politics
After trying to follow both, the Way of the Wise and the Way of the Fierce One for a long time and serving as Wise Chosen under the then prophet, Abstract Workshop, I'm proud to be Chosen of the Fierce One.
Please take note that I'm a running a declared hostile vessel. This doesn't mean I'm going to attack every ship I'm running across, but, unless peaceful intention has been declared, it's definitely an option.
Galactic President
Around turn 1560 the presidency was put on a new base with the founding of the Galactic Council. The founding members were Aquila and FIST, but the Galactic Council was from the beginning explicitely meant to be open for all alliances in the game. See our Founding Charter for details.
Production and Production Requests
The Galactic Council is basing Production on a scheme as detailed in this chart.The reasoning behind said chart was explained in more detail in this this mail on TBG_OpenForum.
You might to want to sign on to this list in case you haven't done so already - it's the main discussion list for To Boldly Go (together with TBG_Design, where game development, bugs and the like are discussed).
As all production related issues are to be discussed within the Galactic Council, comments on the chart and production requests should be made to the public address of the Council: President@Hainish.de.
